The Akashi bridge links Hongshu island (japan main island) to Shikoku island in the south. The suspension bridge has 3,910 m total span, 1,990 m central span, 2 piers at sea, 2 bank abutments.

Construction of a circular diaphragm wall which will be used as a bank abutment and an anchoring block for the bridge suspension cables.

The inner diameter of the circular diaphragm wall is 85 m, the thickness of the wall is 2.20 m and its depth is 75.50 m.
Equipment used: 2 HF 12,000 Hydrofraises.
