March 20, 2008 - A new collector in Bogota

As part of sewerage works in Bogota, Solétanche Bachy Cimas and CSM Bessac, subsidiaries of Solétanche Bachy, working in a group with ConConcreto, are currently building the IFT (Interceptor at Río Bogotá Fucha Tunjuelo). This main sewer will enable 3 million inhabitants to benefit from a high-performance wastewater catchment system and to clean up and preserve the Fucha, Tunjuelo and Bogota Rivers. The tunnel, which is 9.4 km long with an internal diameter of 3.75 m, is being bored at a depth of 8 to 14 m using an earth pressure balance tunnelling machine.

Delivery of the project is scheduled for 2009. 200 m of tunnel have already been completed and the EAAB (the Bogota Water and Sanitation Public Service Enterprise) has already awarded the execution of a second main sewer, the ITB (Interceptor Tunjuelo Bajo), to the group with works starting in april 2008.
