| | At the end of December, Soletanche Bachy completed the soil improvement and diaphragm wall works (20.2 km and 2745 panels) on the Al Raha Beach site in the United Arab Emirates. This ambitious project of the developer ALDAR begun in August 2006 will extend the sea coast by about 600 m. This area will host several residential and commercial districts. This development, on an area of more than 500 hectares facing the Al Raha Gardens and bordering the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway, will become home to 120,000 residents and buildings of more than 60 storeys. Soletanche Bachy is now embarking on the second phase of the work: the capping beams and the facing of the diaphragm walls. This work is due to be completed in July 2009.
